Middle School

High School

Further information about our High School Program is available by scheduling an information session. 

HS Students earn 5 credits per year for the morning session 8:30-1:30pm. 

2 Electives per year are suggested in addition for a total of 7 credits per year.

**  We are accepting a limited number of 9th grade students for Spring 2010.


Additional Classes

Classes are offered on a quarterly or semester basis and meet once or twice per week at 1:30-2:30pm and/or 2:30-3:30pm  (Friday or weekend workshops will be denoted as such.)

Class offerings are based on interest of the students. Some may be online classes with a teacher/facilitator.   Examples include:

Odyssey of the Mind, Social and Media Technology, Chess, School Magazine, Computer Concepts, World Languages, Ecology, Quilting, Crochet, Knitting, Scrapbooking, Yoga, Nutrition, Creative Writing, Skateboarding, Wildnerness Skills.

Drama/Acting, Robotics, Bowling, Gardening, Media Studies, Advertising and Marketing, Accounting Basics, Native American Studies, Geology and Ancient Cultures.

We are please to offer the following classes created by Duke University available online

Discovering King Arthur:  Medieval Mystery and Meaning                                                        Math and the Cosmos                                                                                                             Foundations of Modern Biology: Genetics, Evolution and Ethics                                            Clues in Crime:  The Role of Forensic Science in Criminal Investigations
Peace and Protest:  The Turbulent 60's

Studio Art:  Offerings will vary with the interest of the students and availability of artists.  Classes may be:  Painting, Drawing, Sculpting, Beadmaking, Creating Mandalas, Photography, 2-D Collage, furniture painting, 3-D, Screen printing.

Music:  Weekly sessions with artist and musician Gregory Blaine. 

World Languages

RPS is proud to be a host site for the Auralog language program!  www.tellmemore.com Other languages may be available by request.

German, French, Spanish, Italian.    

**Some classes may meet at alternate locations. Transportation is not provided by RPS. Parents may choose to carpool.


Homeschool Enrichment

Homeschoolers can register for any of the electives offered  OR you may e-mail us with requests or suggestions for classes you would like to see offered for the following quarter.

 Yoga - Wednesdays 1:30-2:30pm

Mindful Meditation, Guided Imagery and Discovering Intuition with Dale Rutman:     Tuesdays 1:30-2:30pm  for 15 and up. $300 per semester or $60 per month.

World Languages:  Spanish, French, German, Italian   Tuesdays and Thursdays                2:30-3:30pm. $600 per semester or $120 per month.

 


Tutoring

Tutoring is available by appointment for students in grades 6-12.
